Very well done. It would explain a lot, particularly Hemingway’s ultra masculine affect.
I’m an AMAB trans-woman, born in 1958. The iron-fisted patriarchal gender binary was still fully enforced.
I finally transitioned in 1993/94, at the age of 34/35, when I left the USNavy and found myself in in sunny San Diego, and a thriving lgbt community.
It’s almost always difficult to determine just how trans/queer an historical figure was, given the need to appear cis-hetero during the history of the Patriarchal Dominance Hierarchy’s roughly 6 to 8 thousand year reign.
Thanks again Jack.
