When we are "triggered", there is something wrong with*us*. We have a "sore spot", perhaps it could be called an "open wound". This sore spot is a result of trauma, fear, a deep insecurity that, when prodded, gives a shock of pain. A short, sharp, shock of intense pain is instantly reacted to with an instinctive 'fight-or-flight' reaction.

If you are "triggered", you’ve reacted defensively, in anger. Your "sore spot" has been poked.

Solution? Learn mindfulness. Learn it by watching wise teachers like Thich Nhat Hanh or Pema Chodron or Venerable Thubten Chodron, on YouTube.
