I’m a trans-woman who began my transition, MtoF, in 1993.

A few years ago my VA therapist,(a woman), asked me, “Louise, do you think you were born this way, or did your childhood 'make' you transgender”? “I think you were born this way.”(my father, who was always gone with the Army, anyway, died when I was eight years old. I was raised with a strong, but loving, mother and three older sisters).

My reply? “####, the question is irrelevant. I am who I am. Even were there a time machine, what, exactly, would you 'fix’, and why ‘fix' anything?”

You explained this so well that I’ve already shared it to my Facebook page.
