Thank you Sly.
I believe that, due to the constant indoctrination, from every possible angle, and from birth, in the Patriarchal Dominance Hierarchy’s cis-het dictate, non-trans people, at least the vast majority of them, are very frightened of any suggestion of anything outside the Patriarchal norm. Very deeply frightened.
They, like most straight people, have had dreams and fantasies of a non-patriarchal approved gender presentation and/or sexuality.
They are deeply ashamed of those "forbidden" fantasies.
As a former "escort" in 1990s San Diego, I can tell you that that many ostensibly straight men,(and women), have these hidden, “shameful”, fantasies.
The outrage, the hatred, that they show at our visibility is a result of, a fight-or-flight reaction to the perception of their subconscious of a direct threat to the denial they have in place, in a delicate balance, barely containing the self-loathing that they they carry around, 24/7, regarding their "horrible" secret fantasies.
The forbidden nature of these desires, for many, is the spice that feeds their arousal.
It’s a very touchy, and possibly volatile, subject, depending on how much fear and shame they are burdened with.
Now retired,(thank Goddess), I still occasionally have an old man interested in having an affair with me. When I tell them that I charge $1,000 an hour for married men, they act surprised. They ask me why I won’t do it for free, and I say, "what’s in it for me?"
Almost every single one says, "For the excitement!😁"
Me, "Sweetie, the only thing that excites me is cash". Besides, I’m on a strict Vagetarian diet now 😉
Thanks for a great essay.
