Thank you Martie.

I understood what it meant to me, in an English literature class in…?.. junior high?, High school?

I stayed on the well-trodden path, though it seared my soul, afraid of the path I was unmistakably drawn to, with it’s known, and unknown, consequences.

In that era of history it was forbidden, even unthinkable, though I did secretly dream.

Then, a North Carolina boy became a California girl. The first step onto that path was the most frightening thing I ever did.

The thick of war in the middle east was nothing compared to the courage it took. Dying, after all, is easy. Living, there’s the challenge.

Over my 62 years I’ve known those who, out of fear, stayed “safely” on the crowded path, the one with the teeming crowds, the masses jostling, inertia keeping all moving along, unable to break free, until a growing unease building to a primal scream that compels you to take the leap into the unknown, veer violently, suddenly, off of the crowded way, ripping, shredding the bonds that resist your departure to emerge triumphant, blazing a trail of your own, finally, the right path.

But that’s only my perspective 😉

Thanks again Martie.(I probably just need some sleep 🙄)
