Thank you, Laura-Ann!
Yes, one of the first things I learned, those many years ago, was that confidence is key.
I know, and am grateful, that I am lucky, very lucky indeed, to have a slender frame, no brow ridges or any of those things. Once the muscles had atrophied a bit, and I was about two years in on the hormones, I began, (to my great surprise), to “pass”. That was about 25 years ago.
Regrettably, living in a small city, in eastern NC, the only other trans-woman I know is a young, twenty-something, third year med student, who is, (obviously), very busy…
All of the friends that I see regularly are cishet and cislesbian women.
If anyone does ever think my appearance to be “off”, just a little, my voice clenches it, “clearly female”.
I don’t advocate for anyone to conform, in any way that they don’t wish to, but just in case you, or anyone else, would like to improve their voice, I just put up a piece entitled, “Male to female voice change.” It’s not curated. Just thrown out there, in case anyone would like to read it.
Oh! Martie Sirois, (sp?), you are entirely welcome to use it, if you like. I just keep forgetting to submit things to GFtT… 😍😘😇🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
PS; I do feel a little guilty, from time to time, about not helping out more, “in the trenches”, so to speak, but I have a reasonably comfortable life, my body and my brain have really been through hell, and I have a lot of work yet to do, improving my own emotional and spiritual health. I’m a recovering alcoholic, u see…I have just over a year, sober and clean, but I have a ways to go… thank you for all that you do! 😍😘😇🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
