Stranded in Afghanistan?

Recriminations are flying, fast and furious, from both sides of the aisle, “The Biden withdrawal is a catastrophe! It’s a humanitarian disaster! Impeach Biden!!! He’s incompetent!”

I find myself wondering if anyone in our nation’s capital is actually concerned about the loss of life that we’ve experienced with the “forever war" in Afghanistan.

Seems like these days everything in the halls of Congress is about absolutely nothing but politics and ruthless competition for power.

It’s a sad state of affairs. I finally had a really good night’s sleep last night for the first time in a while,(without any kind of sleep aid).

I woke up with a cup of coffee and my much abused, damaged, mind began to work halfway well for the first time in almost fifty years. Here’s what I thought, first thing, first cup of coffee on the side table…

The only people "abandoned" in Afghanistan were a relatively small number of Afgan interpretors and other Afghans who collaborated with us. As long as there were some American troops still there, some number of Afgans were needed to work with them.
As for American civilians and civilians from the countries of our NATO allies, Trump made a deal with the Taliban quite a while ago, with a date set. Biden moved the date out by a few months, but still had definite cutoff dates.
Civilians from the USA…
