I’ve been told that I should get disability from the navy because of the “stuff” that happened to me. I had no conscious memory of it until a fellow woman veteran told me about hers.

I spent three days in my apartment, in a puddle of tears and snot.

The women at my Wednesday women’s meeting gave me a few pats and some thinly veiled victim-blaming.

That was a few years ago. I’m not homeless or anything, at least not anymore. I don’t need disability money from the navy, not that much.

I’ve gotten myself sober and clean. Not much help from the women of AA because I’m trans…in NC.
