Indeed, as I spelled out in a previous response, shared by Martie Sirois in her essay, “What’s really behind Homophobia and Trans-phobia”, approximately 80%,or more, of all human beings are, in their innermost thoughts and fantasies, bi-sexual, to varying degrees. LGBTQ people who exist openly are “throwing it in our faces!”

Confronted with their own most shameful thoughts and forbidden desires, an explosive reaction to fear is inevitable…When the “explosion” is contained, within, the sky is the limit of possible insanities…the internal pressure is more than many can bear. At best, “reasoned”, “rational”, “loving”, “biblical”, reactions are often the response. Carefully, but very shallowly, hidden beneath, is stark-raving terror.
