I understand. I went through pretty much the same thing, only with a daughter.

Now alone, getting a check from SSDI and one from the VA, I have finally learned to live within my means.

My mother was fairly well-off, in her later years, and I got used to her being a no-questions-asked safety net.

She died and my sisters stole all of the money….I should have been more careful. It’s not like I didn’t know that they were capable of it.

I’m much happier now, though. I’m sober and clean and living within my means. But then, I don’t have anyone to support but myself…
