I see beauty in everyone.

I live in an apartment complex that is occupied 98% by African-American people.

My daughter is blended.

Some people at my AA group seem to think that I should be afraid.

On my walk today, I came apon three boys, maybe 13(?) years old. They were throwing acorns at each other, laughing, having fun.

I smiled and said good morning. As I was walking away, an acorn flew by my head, on my left. I didn’t react, only smiling to myself. I heard a young voice behind me, “Sorry Aunt Louise”. (giggles)…I smiled, thinking that I’m safer and more comfortable and loved, right where I am… We only have to accept ourselves and others, just as we are. When we do that, we can see the beauty in everyone…. the love…that’s the thing.
