I have monthly, recurring donations going out to PFLAG, a Democratic org, and a trans org.

Aside from that, I simply lead a good, kind life and practice Peace Love Kindness Respect, in my daily life, and in the twelve step program that I participate in.

Over the last couple of years, minds have changed. Consistent kindness and respect for others, in addition to living your most authentic life, is the way to slowly, but surely, gain supporters.

Though it’s a bit uncomfortable, I occasionally out myself at a meeting, or to an individual. Being visible, but not disruptive, shrill, petulant, will gain support for us trans-people.

If we are loud, disruptive, whiney, it may feel cathartic, but it is counter-productive. If people feel that you are challenging them to a fight, most will fight back.

I don’t think of it as a fight. It’s an endurance race. Patience and adult behavior are key.
