I had a one to two hour session with a clinical psychologist, who specialized in gender issues, every week, for two years, before I was certified to change my name and gender, legally.

Over 25 years later, in a small town in NC, I’m intimately involved with a women’s twelve step group, and am invited to all “female only” functions.

Last night I chaired the AA Hut women’s meeting, by popular demand.

All of the members, except for the occasional newcomer, know that I’m transgender. A few have gently hinted that they’d prefer that I don’t share that fact…I’ve stopped, at least, at meetings.

I have a nice little life here. It saddens me to see so much fear and resentment in the world.

I, personally, can’t speak for all “transwomen”. I can only speak about my life.

It’s extremely infantile to paint whole swaths of people with the same brush, particularly when the vast majority of the fear is irrational in nature.

I can’t change anyone’s mind, and I won’t try, but I can report that everyone is fine, here, in my little corner of the world.

Peace Love Kindness Respect the more you give the more you get 😍
