I get it. I’m M to F, starting in 1993. At 61, I still haven’t decided whether I’m “pre-op” or “no-op”. At this point the question is quickly approaching moot.

I’ve experienced many such reactions. One of my favorites is, “Wow! You had me fooled!” That one gives me a chance to explain that I’m no longer trying to fool anyone. When I was, apparently, male…that was when I felt that I had to fool everyone.
