Happiness is a feeling. We don’t have to rely on anything external to give us happiness. It’s an inside job.

With the proper training, I, anyone, can generate happiness by simply 'bringing my mind home to my body’, and, for me, visualize the sunlight of the spirit of God filling my body and spreading out to touch all living beings.

Compassion is the key to happiness.

When I am filled with compassion it colors my perception and informs my words and actions.

That’s easy for me to say, I know. It is, however, quite true.

Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh has many videos on YouTube. If you prefer a teacher who was born into an English-speaking society, Gelong Thubten,(British), Pema Chodron,(American), and Venerable Thubten Chodron,(American), are all excellent, delightful and wise, and all on YouTube.

Putting aside skepticism, and taking the time to learn, you come to understand that nothing outside of your mind/body is needed to generate happiness and reduce suffering for yourself and those around you.
