Facebook Jail!

  • for a post on the phenomenon of “detransition movements”.

I shared an essay by a trans-masc person who wrote on Medium about the suffering they endured, sucked into that destructive “movement”.

I shared it to some FB groups I belong to. A couple of them allowed it. One group’s admin, at a group that’s one of the several “butch/femme” lesbian groups, held on to it for a few weeks, then, in fairness, decided to let it post earlier today.

When I got home from a recovery support group meeting tonight, I found that FB had blocked me from posting on groups.

The admin had posted a comment, explaining her decision to allow it, citing fairness in looking at both sides, but allowing that some “gender critical” members may object. She even sited the possibility of them being “triggered”.

It would seem obvious that, if FB themselves objected to it, it would have fairly immediately been taken down. What’s left as a possibility is that a “gender critical” member was “triggered”.

Here’s my response, posted only to my personal page,(obviously);

“Well, I’ve been blocked from posting in groups.
I know which one was the "problem".
Seems that some people are blinded by Fear/Anger such that they are unable to calm their minds and simply listen, without projecting their own fears and predjudices…
