Everyone in the meeting knows that I am transgender. After nearly five years, many have said, "I just can’t imagine you as a man!"
Twice I have been the featured speaker at the weekly speaker meeting. I start with, "When I was a little boy".....
Cis woman friends have said, "You know, you shouldn’t really talk about that. I enjoy when you just talk about recovery".
My reply?,"If there is another person 'out there' going through what I did, I must have my hand out, willing to help them recover from that pit of despair. I consider it a responsibility".
Getting outside of my 'comfort-zone’, with compassionate understanding and a willingness to help, is necessary for the maintenance of my self respect and sobriety.
Open honesty is not optional for me.
Peace Love Kindness Respect the more you give the more you get 😍 start with yourself 😉 because you deserve it ❤️🙏🏼 (you really do. I promise.)

PS: The occasional “outrage” from a shrinking minority of women, who refuse to let go of their own self destructive coping strategies, is the price I pay for the opportunity to help others. To help everyone around me learn to see others with compassionate understanding and accept them for who they are, I choose to not live, “backed into a corner”, constantly frightened and defensive. It’s very bad for a person’s health, mental, emotional and physical. -w

Bye y'all. it's been real. I have a new Chromebook, but I prefer to write these little "aside" pieces on my phone, curled up in my comfy chair. always love; w
