Beautiful ❤️🙏🏼 thank you.

One of the things I miss most from my days in southern California is the way we all,(my friends and acquaintances), hugged and kissed each other, on the lips, in greeting and in farewell.

We understood that it wasn’t an invitation to sex, but simply an indication of our care and respect for each other.

We made a particular point of hugging and kissing men who obviously had AIDS.(this was the late 1980s thru the 1990s).

Those who had the horrible affliction were shunned, ostracized. Other people’s fear and ignorance made them very frightened.

My 'circle' of friends made it our business to find out what the doctors said about the methods of transmission, and knew that a kiss and a hug posed no danger to us, and the sufferers sorely needed some affection, some simple human kindness. We understood that giving is the most indispensable part of loving.

Thanks again for the information about Dr. Zussman. I’ll look her up.
